So I have been dropping the ball when it comes to updating the blog. There has been SO much going on in the last month. Here is a brief update of our little family!
I went back to work 3 weeks ago, when Abbie was 7 weeks old. It has been really hard but it was SO much easier knowing that Tom is home with her. We have decided that he is going to stay home with Abbie for a while. He is able to take a leave for up to a year without loosing his job. For the first time in our marriage, we are going to have to be on a budget since we only have one income now. Tom has been taking great care of Abbie and he can make some mean dinners!! He really is great husband and dad!!
Abbie just had her first round of shots today. I was at work so I didn't have to see her reaction from the shots. Tom said that she just started screaming and crying like he had never heard before. It was non stop for a few minutes. When I came home from work she was awake and happy so it wasn't as hard for her as we thought it would be.
Abbie sleeps from 8pm until about 2am and then we wake up and she feeds for a little while and then sleeps until about 7am. She has a good routine going during the day. She definitely LOVES to eat. At the drs. visit today, we found out that she weighs 10 lbs 6.5oz and is 23 inches long. She is in the 75% for height and 50% for weight. Hopefully she also got her dad's height and metabolism!!
She found her smile about 2 weeks ago. We just have to make silly faces and she smiles like crazy!! I makes my heart just melt when she smiles at me. She laughed for the first time for me tonight. It was too much!! I love this little girl so much and I just can't get enough of her!!
Since I don't get much time with her during the week, her and I have a night time routine that I love. We take a bath together and have some girl time. It is nice to just play with her and have that skin to skin contact. We then get ready for bed and get swaddled up and we go to bed. She sleeps in her bassinet in our room. It is nice to have her close without having her in our bed.
Here are some pictures from these last few weeks. Enjoy!!
