Week 12....She is getting SO big!

This week we did some Halloween crafts with Auntie Cindy and Lily. We painted a pumpkin and made footprint bats. It was a lot of fun to get the girls messy!

Tom and I also brought out her bebe pod. It is this plastic seat that the baby can sit in once they can hold their own head up. Abbie like sitting in it and playing with the toy that is on it. She realized that if she touched the toy with her hand it would make noise. She is SO smart!! Ha ha ha!!

I asked Tom the other day if he thought that we were obsessed with taking pictures of Abbie. He said that we were but we figure that all new parents are!

Enjoy pictures from this week!

Week 11...Pumpkin Patch FUN!!!

This week we went to the Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch in Irvine. It was SO much fun. We went with our friends Nate and Cindy. They have a daughter Lily who is just 18 days younger than Abbie. We just walked around and went thru the corn maze that they have there. It was a beautiful day. We are going to make our visit to Tanaka Farms a tradition. They also have christmas trees so we will go there during christmas time. I can't wait!!

Here are some pictures of our visit!

Also,

Abbie got to meet her Great Great Grandma this week. My mom goes once a week to see Great Great Grandma Doris so she took Abbie with her this week. She lives in an assisted living home in La Mirada. She has a good friend names Jeanette who lives just down the hall. They both loved holding Abbie and all the other people who live in the home loved having a baby there too. Abbie is wearing her strawberry outfit in the picture with Grandma Doris and she is wrapped up in the blanket in the picture with Jeanette.

It was a great week!!

Week 10

I know that I talked about Abbie's experience at the drs in the last blog so here is picture of her with her band aids on.

Abbie has been becoming more expressive and more aware of her surroundings. She has been such a joy!! It is amazing how much she changes each week.

Here are some pictures from the week. Enjoy!

Week 5, 6,7,8,&9....I am SUCH a bad mom!!!

So I have been dropping the ball when it comes to updating the blog. There has been SO much going on in the last month. Here is a brief update of our little family!

I went back to work 3 weeks ago, when Abbie was 7 weeks old. It has been really hard but it was SO much easier knowing that Tom is home with her. We have decided that he is going to stay home with Abbie for a while. He is able to take a leave for up to a year without loosing his job. For the first time in our marriage, we are going to have to be on a budget since we only have one income now. Tom has been taking great care of Abbie and he can make some mean dinners!! He really is great husband and dad!!

Abbie just had her first round of shots today. I was at work so I didn't have to see her reaction from the shots. Tom said that she just started screaming and crying like he had never heard before. It was non stop for a few minutes. When I came home from work she was awake and happy so it wasn't as hard for her as we thought it would be.

Abbie sleeps from 8pm until about 2am and then we wake up and she feeds for a little while and then sleeps until about 7am. She has a good routine going during the day. She definitely LOVES to eat. At the drs. visit today, we found out that she weighs 10 lbs 6.5oz and is 23 inches long. She is in the 75% for height and 50% for weight. Hopefully she also got her dad's height and metabolism!!

She found her smile about 2 weeks ago. We just have to make silly faces and she smiles like crazy!! I makes my heart just melt when she smiles at me. She laughed for the first time for me tonight. It was too much!! I love this little girl so much and I just can't get enough of her!!

Since I don't get much time with her during the week, her and I have a night time routine that I love. We take a bath together and have some girl time. It is nice to just play with her and have that skin to skin contact. We then get ready for bed and get swaddled up and we go to bed. She sleeps in her bassinet in our room. It is nice to have her close without having her in our bed.

Here are some pictures from these last few weeks. Enjoy!!

4 weeks old

I am sorry that this is late but we have had a busy week. Abbie is back up to her birth weight and the Dr says she looks great. She is an eating MACHINE!!! She goes back to the Dr on 10/01 for her first set of shots. I am glad that Tom will have to take her to that appointment. We will find out how much she has gained then.

She is a great sleeper during the night. She usually sleeps 4-5 hours straight. I feel so lucky that she doesn't have her nights and days mixed up.

Sorry this is a short update but next week will be longer and I will have all the pictures up for this week and last weeks.

3 weeks old today!!!!

I can't believe that she is already 21 days old!! It has been an amazing journey so far. We have has some little road blocks with breastfeeding but we have worked thru them and we are doing great. I LOVE the moments that I get with her while I am feeding her. We go back to the Dr tomorrow for a weigh in for Abbie to see if she is back up to her birth weight. She has gained weight since coming home from the hospital but she isn't back up to her birth weight yet. The Dr just wants to make sure that she is gaining more weight since my milk hadn't all come in. I am taking all these herbs to help my milk production and they have really helped. Abbie is eating more and has a full belly all the time!!

Here are a couple pictures from this last week. Tom is amazing with her and it makes me love him deeper to see him love her SO much!! I am such a lucky lady!!

Here is a link to some pictures that my bestest friend took of Tom and I (preggo pics) and of Abbie. Enjoy!! http://www.pbase.com/jeanniemutrais/abbie_road
